H.G. Wells' The Man Who Could Work Miracles was first published in 1898 in The Illustrated London News. Alec Guinness stars as George McWhirter Fotheringay who suddenly discovers that he has the power to work miracles. He decides to use his new gift for the public good, but chaos only ensues.
