Acerca de este título
Going home for the holidays is never easy. But it's next to impossible when you've just been dumped.
Just when I think it can't get any worse, my grad school nemesis, billionaire playboy Macallan Blaze, finds me sulking, trying to figure out a Plan B.
Life's a game to him, so when he offers to stand in as my fake boyfriend, I think he's joking. But he's dead serious.
And it's not like I can afford to turn him down. My tiny hometown only consists of 600 residents, where everyone knows everyone, and gossip spreads faster than wildfire.
Of freaking course, everyone falls in love with Mac the minute they meet him, and it's like he grew up in Rust Canyon.
But when he lets the cocky facade slip and shows peeks of the man behind the mask, I start to think that maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to judge.
The scariest part of all is that I might actually like him.
©2024 Red Diva Publishing LLC (P)2024 Tantor MediaThis is the second time I am experiencing the book again and, as I had already read it, I felt that I could listen to the audiobook a little faster than what I would normally listen to a "new book". I had this at a 1.75x speed, which meant that the 5 hours were reduced to just under 4 hours. That is the perfect amount of time to listen while doing household chores. I didn't feel that anything was lost at that speed as the production quality was very well done and the transitions from one section to the next were paced well.
As for the narration and acting. I personally loved the job that Jasmin Song did. I've looked her up and see that she only has 2 books under her portfolio so I am going to assume she must have a lot of other acting experience because I thought she did a great job on the dialogue as well as the narration. Scott Rose, however, does have a lot of titles under his belt and it shows in his work. Although there were a few parts that were "acted" differently than how I had heart them in my head when I read the book, I thought it was well done. If I originally felt the chemistry between the characters on the page when reading the written copy, the performed version of this book just elevated the book for me.
I Love this seris
