両家は敵同士であった The two families were enemies. 両家の者たちが街で出会うと When members of these families met in the streets しばしば互いに争った they often fought with each other.
それでベローナ大公は So the Prince of Verona 新しい法律をつくった made a new law: 「街で再び争うなら ""If you fight in public again, その者を死刑に処する you will be put to death.""」と。
