I gave this four stars when I read it but I didn't know how much it would mean to me over the years. Upon reread I'm giving it five stars cause this is an amazing first book, one that I can't stop thinking about and that leads into an incredible series.
The plot of this one is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and the details were so good. And the twists? Unbelievable! Loved it.
The characters are incredible and I can't wait to reread the rest of the books and reunite with the rest of the characters.
I first read this more than nine years ago and it's now one of my favorite series of all time. And it gets better with every book.
I just reread this to prepare for the sixth book that releases in October, A Court of Splintered Harmony, and the seventh book, A Court of Forgotten Melody, that releases in January 2027. I'm not big on rereading but I do when it feels right and it did now. I forgot many things and now that I've read the rest I picked up on things that I didn't back then. I was a fantastic read.

A lot of people loved this book so I was really intrigued by it.
After reading it, I understand it all. I really enjoyed it, I almost gave it 5 stars but sometimes the story went a bit slow so I finally gave it 4. It was fantastic anyway.
It was a beautiful retelling with its own different details. I hope I can read the next one soon.
