Halku, the poor farmer somehow manages to save three rupees to buy a new blanket which he needs while guarding his field in the dark winter nights. But Sahna, his landlord comes to his doorstep and asks for the money that Halku owes him. The winter nights were so cold that without a blanket there was no way he could sleep out in the open.
