Celebrate the miracle of love and the joy of the holiday season on the Western frontier with the Twelve Mail Order Brides of Christmas, a new series from popular author Emma Morgan!
When Susie and her sister Maggie both lose their young husbands in the war, Susie decides it’s time to take control of their own destinies. With her sister lost in heartbreak, Susie answers an ad from a pair of brothers in Montana who are looking for wives, hoping to find them both a warm and safe place to live. But life in the logging camps of Montana is much harder than Susie ever dreamed, and it doesn’t help that her sister, Maggie, seems to be settling in much better than her.
Tom and Hank Winston are hardworking loggers, like the rest of the camp, and they expect the same from their wives. But Susie wants more for herself as well as the community, and she takes it upon herself to bring a love of reading and culture to the children of the town—a dream her husband Hank is dead-set against.
As the Christmas holidays draw closer, Susie finds herself drawing closer to Hank, despite his unfamiliar ways. But can she ever untangle his secrets enough to feel a part of this family in this strange, cold country?
