I love the format of this book, and how it addresses some key critical concerns before delving into practical tips. It offers an accessible and original way for students to think about AI.
Josh has done something pretty hard to find: written a genuinely approachable guide to AI that students will actually want to read. The examples are sharp, the guidance is wise, and the whole book models the kind of thoughtful engagement we should be encouraging. For any college student starting out with AI, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
More than any other book I have seen, AI for Students is an accessible, entertaining, and visual guide, which I hope that many students will read to help move the needle on AI literacy. It uses the graphic novel form to actually cut through the noise, and to encourage students that so much about 'adapting to The Age of AI' comes down to engaging critically with the world around us and keeping our own voices. Beyond that, it's an absolute pleasure to read.

This is a timely guide to GenAI that targets students at all levels. The book is designed to take a subject drowning in hype and hand-wringing and make it fun and useful. Josh Thorpe has done an amazing job of explaining the steps students can take to learn with ChatGPT efficiently. The comic-strip format makes big ideas land in seconds, but don't be fooled by the lightness of touch, as this is intentional and quietly essential. I'll be recommending it to every student I know.
