Can a match made in heaven survive the holiday from hell?
Karen Kay is 28, unmarried, in a dull job and thinks of herself as ‘Audrey Hepburn with a muffin top’.
Longing for glamour, culture and something to spice up her flagging relationship with the slightly dull but reliable Steve, she books an all-inclusive holiday to the sun-soaked island of San Itairi.
Upon arrival, Karen is shocked by the prejudice, squalor and violence she encounters—and that’s just the other British tourists! When she meets art critic Ian Hurst, he seems to offer a way in to the sophisticated world she craves—but at the risk of ruining things with Steve.
As the politically unstable island erupts into a revolution, Karen realises she could be about to lose not only her boyfriend—but also her life!
Will Karen live to tell the tale and get a proposal from Steve, or will Ian turn out to be her gateway to a new life? Find out in this laugh-a-minute summer comedy romance!
