Acerca de este título
Overthinkers, as the world calls some of us, are caught up in a soup of our own thoughts that when not kept in check can drive us mad. While it was draining for me not to be able to switch off my mind, I also assumed that "overthinking" was a normal thing that everybody lived with. There were times I wanted my thoughts to calm down so I could have a moment of peace, but then I would think, "If this is what everybody else has to deal with, then I'll have to live with it as well."
Having been a chronic overthinker in my youth, I know what it is like to feel frozen and anxious. Furthermore, the effort of hiding our thought process from those around us to avoid feeling criticized or quietly judging ourselves gets sooo exhausting. It is just as tiring as it sounds having a mind that will not stop worrying about issues that could be just anything. From recalling a conversation from ages ago and all the numerous things we could have said at the time to imagining all of the possible events that will happen tomorrow and the multitude of ways that we can respond. Our minds can go wild!
With more than 30 years of meticulous dedication and researching diverse approaches to understanding and working with the mind, I've written this audiobook for anyone who is a closet overthinker or a card-carrying club member. I now know what it's like to have a peaceful mind, and I want to help you in your journey to overcome the burden of your non-stop thinking. Recognizing the numerous causes for overthinking and learning different methods to cope will allow you to make peace with your mind through adopting a body-mind-spirit approach. With this in hand you can take the actions necessary to create a peaceful and enjoyable life.
