Acerca de este título

This book began with a simple moment—a sentence spoken in a hospital ward, a comment I didn’t plan, a truth I didn’t fully understand: “That leg is expensive.”

Those words opened a door inside me.

They awakened an awareness I had carried all my life without naming—an awareness of how fragile we are, how resilient we are, and how miraculous our everyday movements truly are.

As a caregiver, I have seen people who once ran struggle to stand. I have watched those who once danced learn to walk again with trembling legs. I have held the hands of patients whose feet would never touch the ground again. And I have also seen the opposite—people who walk freely complain about shoes, distances, inconveniences, and details that those without mobility would consider a blessing.

Life has a way of teaching gratitude through contrast.

But the deepest inspiration for this book came from home—from watching my wife, Prophetess Queen Idah, walk through seven months of pain and immobility after her knee collapsed at work.

Her courage, her patience, her faith, and her tears taught me more about the value of movement than any textbook, any training, or any experience ever could.

This book is not written to make anyone guilty.

It is written to awaken awareness, to open eyes, to heal hearts, and to remind us that what we consider ordinary is often a miracle in disguise.

Every chapter carries a message: honour your steps.

Honour your journey.

Honour your body.

Honour your blessings.

Honour your God.

My hope is that as you read, your feet will not only move through the world differently, but your heart will move differently too.

Because the truth is simple:

Your feet are expensive.

Your life is sacred.

And your steps—every single one—matter.— Fredlyne Evbuomwan
