These four stories are not the full harvest.

They are the first invitations.

Before the week at Lost Lake begins—before the groups collide, before the true hunger is unleashed—there are separate beginnings. Four sets of people. Four different hungers. Four quiet moments when something ancient first turns its attention toward them.

In this book you will meet the ones who will matter most.

A couple who chase intensity and blood in the isolation of the woods, unaware that something older is already watching. A pair who pull a hatchet from an ancient tree and accidentally wake a spirit that has slept for far too long. A nest of vampires searching for a new kind of feast, only to discover a pleasure more addictive than blood. A newly awakened woman who arrives in the city already starving, her body and mind opening to a hunger she can no longer control.

These stories exist to introduce them to you. To show you who they were before Sabine begins to shape them. Before she decides how far they will go, how deeply they will fall, and how completely they will belong to the hunger she carries.

What follows is a taste of the transformation to come. A preview of the pleasure, the power, and the slow, deliberate way Sabine gathers what she wants—at the pace she chooses.

This is only the beginning.

The real harvest has not yet started.

But she has already noticed them.

And once Sabine notices someone… she rarely looks away.
