In the heart of Victorian London, high society masks the cunning of a gentleman thief. Celebrated cricketer A.J. Raffles – subversive, charming, elegantly dressed – enjoys the thrill of a good burglary, especially when his victim has the privilege of wealth. He and his loyal friend Bunny Manders conduct their many escapades with irresistible mischief.
E.W. Hornung, inspired by his brother-in-law Arthur Conan Doyle, mirrors the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson in his inversion of the detective formula, his thieving anti-hero a springboard for exciting stories full of wit and style. They are read here by the unmatchable David Timson, whose 'Complete Sherlock Holmes' is a widely loved pillar of the audiobook world.
Includes all three short-story collections – The Amateur Cracksman, The Black Mask and A Thief in the Night – plus his novel, Mr. Justice Raffles
