When his adopted father is murdered in his absence from the kingdom, a new tyrannical king is named and Graydan and his small party is hunted and framed for the murder. Graydan must travel to another land in search of asylum until he can gather allies and forces to return to take his rightful place as king. While in this new land of Canalor, Graydan befriends an elf named Ryder and must go on a mission for the Queen of the Elves with Ryder to earn her favor.
