He thought he found peace at last. A sacrosanct oath drags him back to war...and a final reckoning....
Ireland, 1860. Battle-weary veteran Samuel Kingston has happily settled down with his wife and children. But when he receives news that his father’s remains have been recovered in Nicaragua, he sets off to bring the body home.
When vengeful filibuster, William Walker’s, martial scheme to enslave all Central America threatens everything Samuel holds dear, the Crimean War hero must leap into action once more.
After brokering a deal with Britain’s ambassador to the US to thwart Walker and lock him up for good, Samuel resumes his journey brimming with confidence, but while on the voyage from Panama, Samuel learns his clever trap backfired, and his nemesis still looms as an inescapable threat.
Blatant Destiny is the third book in the thrilling Adventures of a Victorian Soldier historical fiction adventure and military series. If you like Bernard Conwell’s Sharpe series, you’ll love M.J. Twomey’s vibrant tale of sacrifice and honor.
