An enemies-to-lovers why choose romance where fate bites deep, desire is dangerous, and love is most definitely forbidden.

I was trained to kill shifters—not fall into their arms.

I clawed my way out of the orphanage to the top of the academy—twenty stars on my belt, one for every shifter I've killed, and a single promise in my heart: make them pay for the family they stole from me.

Then one mistake sends me plummeting toward death—and into the grasp of the enemy's most feared alpha. He doesn't kill me. He saves me. Then he sinks his teeth into my arm and marks me as his mate, binding me to the monster I swore to destroy.

A mage marked by a shifter is a dead mage. A mage who hides it is a traitor. If the academy finds the bite, I won't be punished. I'll be erased.

But the wound won't heal. My senses are sharpening into something inhuman. I'm becoming the very thing I've spent my whole life learning to hate—and the alpha whose bond now runs in my blood isn't the only one who's caught my scent.

A masked executioner is closing in on a bitten mage. A wolf who's seen me in his visions won't let me go. And something ancient is waking in the mountains—something that will hunt us all.

I belonged to no one. Now fate has decided I belong to them.
