Robert Gordon
“A biography that crackles with as much energy as the great bluesman’s songs.” —Ted Drozdowski, Boston Phoenix
The epic, rollicking, up-and-down life of Muddy Waters—who went from Mississippi farmhand to musical legend, invented electric blues, and created the template for the rock-and- roll band and its wild lifestyle—is chronicled with rare vividness in Robert Gordon’s widely praised biography.
Reseñas de la crítica
“A brisk account of Waters’s journey from the cotton fields of Mississippi to the clubs of Chicago and beyond. . . . With this entertaining and important book, Robert Gordon has made sure that future generations will never forget the original rolling stone.”
—John Freeman, Minneapolis Star Tribune“Compelling... Can’t Be Satisfied is a biography that reads like a great suspense novel.”
—Jeff Johnson, Chicago Sun-Times“Gordon tells the tale with deeply researched hellaciousness; he doesn’t let Muddy off the hook for bad behavior, and he nails the sound of men beating on the devil with guitars.”
—Ty Burr, Entertainment Weekly“Not only a penetrating portrait of the man but also a biography of the blues itself... Superb.”
—Austin American-Statesman
