Nothing in life is ever that simple, and if you are "coming out", then you can have additional complications, because of outmoded race or cultural pressures which have no bearing on today's life whatsoever - other than being carried forward by ignorant minds.
Taboos, ideologies, personal fears of "what others may think" all stem from redundant thoughts and times of the past. We can't choose who we are, nor how we are, nor indeed where we are.
Only as we get older do we realise the stubborness and stupidity of such people around us and their almost total lack of self confidence and self esteem, self worth and value, and how they want things to be their way to make it okay for them, which again is selfishness personified.
