Only the arrogance of man would have the world believe that we are the only ones out there in this tremendous, ever-expanding universe. There is a movement of thousands of government officials who are ready to testify in front of Congress so that we, as a people, can get the world powers to stop all evidence's interference and bring it all forward.
Black projects and the technology being kept from us, such as Tesla's free energy, travel faster than light. Whenever something crashes or gets shot down, the elites and some other people that no one knows show up with all the right credentials and take all the evidence, swearing everyone to secrecy, and all news reports say it was just a weather balloon. In science, we still repeat many experiments that are believed to be accurate, such as the oil drop and pendulums. Historians also try to find more artifacts of the past to prove their points. Some may want physical defining proof, as seen with other civilizations discovered in archaeology with aliens. For proof, we would like bones, books, or even meeting the aliens face to face. It helps to explain something more comfortable that way when you can touch and analyze something new.
There are over 500 million stars. Each star has its solar system and planets. Suppose even one percent of these probable civilizations are advanced, and possibly hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of years more advanced than us. In that case, technology and space travel is only an impossibility to those who aren't as refined and mature, which is us. Years ago, the government made a deal with a contract that should never have happened. It was an agreement to exchange human lives for technology, advanced lasers, and advanced weapons. The problem was that any arrangement was not honored by either party. Well, there lies the issue. The countdown begins....
