Joining us at Audible Studios is best-selling author and illustrator, Cressida Cowell.
Cowell was born and raised in London, but spent much of her youth on an island off of the west coast of Scotland, exploring caves, fishing for her dinner, drawing and writing. It was here that her love of books really took hold, with endless inspiration from the world around her, and plenty of time to read to her hearts’ content. Now, as an award-winning author and illustrator, with titles such as the How to Train Your Dragon series, film and television series to her name, Cowell is an ambassador for the National Literacy Trust and the Reading Agency, and was the 2019-2022 Waterstones Children’s Laureate, following in the footsteps of Michael Morpurgo, Michael Rosen and Malorie Blackman.
We will be talking to Cressida Cowell about her Which Way to Anywhere series, with book two, Which Way Round the Galaxy, having just released. We will find out how she found bringing this book to life in narration, why she loves to write about magic, and why this series took 25 years to come to fruition.
