He’s a serial killer. A murderer of young women, all killed in brutal attacks.
But despite Hamish Wolfe’s conviction, he’s always stuck to his story—he’s innocent and he’s been wrongly imprisoned. And now he wants someone to investigate and, more importantly, to write his story.
Maggie Rose is a notorious defense attorney and writer whose specialty is getting convictions overturned. At first, Maggie is reluctant to even acknowledge Hamish’s requests to meet, ignoring his letters. But this is a very charismatic and persuasive man, good-looking and intelligent.
Eventually even she can’t resist his lure…
Reseñas de la crítica
“Achingly suspenseful.”—The Washington Post on Little Black Lies
“[Bolton’s] sharpest skills are in play with her suspense novel Little Black Lies…Her crafty plotting produces an intricately detailed mystery…And her deft characterizations respect the psychological complexities of the three islanders who serve as narrators…The tension of their interplay fuels the suspense, but in the end—literally, on the last page—it’s the plot that thrills.”—The New York Times Book Review
“This is [Bolton’s] fourth mystery to feature London policewoman Lacey Flint, and it’s so good I’m getting ready to binge-read the first three…The pleasures of first-rate mystery usually lie in the plot, and Bolton has constructed a solid nail-biter. But it’s the characters that infuse A Dark and Twisted Tide with such heart—not just the gritty, damaged Flint but her friends and colleagues, too.”—Entertainment Weekly
“Realistic fear, heart-stopping suspense, and jolting plot twists keep one almost frantically turning pages as Bolton grabs us from the beginning and leaves us shaken at the end. Highly recommended.”—Library Journal (starred review) on Lost
