I wasn’t sure what to expect when arriving in Salem.
Forced to marry a man I’ve never met, attend a private university I’d never heard of, and the whispers of a rumored secret society filling the halls.
This life would be near unbearable with my insufferable fiancé if it wasn’t for his uncle, his best friend, and his enemy.
When none of them are willing to let me go, it sends us down a path I’m not sure any of us will survive.
The life I was promised is distorted behind smoke and mirrors. The truth cloaked by Deceit.

I also learned something very important: maybe audiobooks aren't the way to go with dark romance... at least not for me. I genuinely had no idea what I was getting into. (Yes, I know I should start reading blurbs. No, I probably won't. Going in blind is half the fun... until it isn't. 😩)
I really tried to push through, but I just couldn't.
No shade to the narrators because they did a fantastic job. Honestly, they're probably the only reason I made it to 85%. But after a while, I was rolling my eyes more than I was enjoying the story, and that's usually my sign to call it quits.
Sometimes a book just isn't for you... and this one definitely wasn't for me.
DNF at 85% 💀
