A determined divorcee. A tall, dark, and dependable deputy sheriff.
Jen Hollister was belittled by her ex for years before an unforgivable betrayal opened her eyes and she kicked him to the curb. Unfortunately, he won't stay gone.
Now he's hounding her to give back a stupid trophy she doesn't have. To make matters worse, she's having bizarre dreams that urge her to check out the creepy attic in the B&B she's renovating with her best friend, Olivia Crawford. Leave it to Tom the Troglodyte to disturb her waking and sleeping lives by ramping up the stress as she builds a new life in Echo Key.
As her ex-husband's behavior becomes increasingly unhinged, Jen is never so glad to have Theo Price, her deputy boyfriend, in her life and the support of the rest of her Fearsome Foursome friends. Jen knows she can always count on Olivia, Maggie Harper, and Evelyn Ansel to have her back. And, of course, the woman who was like a mother to her while she was growing up, Olivia and Maggie's aunt, the formidable Coretta Turner.
