Elementary Days is a great book for children from kindergarten to sixth grade. The adventures of elementary and what can happen during the day while among school friends are endless. There are many wonderful moments to keep them busy listening about the life of each grade with two fourth grade classes as the author is bounced from one fourth grade class to another right in the middle of the anticipated Christmas play at her first fourth grade school which she had to miss due to her moving to another part of town right before the play was to take place. It showcases how a child feels while constantly moving from one school to another after getting used to a group of friends, all to have to be rooted up again. It is based in the latter part of the sixties to the early seventies and showcase how in fact things were handled differently by the teachers and the principal back in the day. It is written in a fun, understandable, easy format with fun poetry to keep them busy....wondering.....what will happen next.
