The tip of Theodocius’ sword glowed a bright yellow, and there was a loud poof as he pointed it. A cloud of smoke rose, and as the smoke cleared, the tree was gone, but Potsy could see an antique vintage stage coach.
“Wow!” screeched Zoie as her eyes popped wide. “That is not a stage coach. That’s a princess coach from the days of King Arthur.”
“You’re exactly right, girly,” said Theodocius as he put his sword away. “Potsy. You will be the coachman for this trip. Climb up on that seat and take the reins. The rest of you, get inside. We must be going.”
Theodocius held the door as Savannah, Jinx, and Zoie clamored inside with their weapons. Waycon climbed up on the driver’s seat beside Potsy.
“Here,” said Theodocius as he handed the bags of gold up to Waycon. “Put these under your feet. They’ll be safe there.”
