Having performed over 3,000 consultations and coaching sessions with hundreds of optometry practices across the country, I’ve discovered one irrefutable truth. Your staff is your number one asset, and a leader’s ability to communicate, motivate, and “lead” a team is critical to the sustained success of the organization.

The idea behind writing this book was to use my consulting experience to give leaders and managers of eye care practices the tools and skills they need to successfully lead their teams. Staff management is easily the #1 challenge I hear from ODs and their managers, and it’s been my observation that many leaders lack the leadership skills to get the best performance out of the employees they manage. In fact, poor leadership skills lead to most of the problems I hear pertaining to staff.
