Dr. Elizabeth Kettner, PhD, a well-known trauma therapist in Moraine, Washington, treats the most damaged psychiatric patients in the state. She owns her clinic catering to multiple personality disorder (MPD), and she carries 85 percent of the clinic's caseload. Her patients adore her, and her profits are through the roof.
But one day, Liz's sickest patient, Gola Tecumseh, exposes this clinic for the MPD farm that it is. Liz is leisurely riding her bike on a farm field road when Gola, in her pickup, races up from behind to knock the doctor into a rocky ditch.
