Niko Solan wakes up in a world he doesn’t recognize. Instead of being in his apartment with his cat, he finds himself lost in a dark stone labyrinth. The dungeon prompts him to descend, but there is a catch.
Fear is a measurable stat that increases due to a myriad of factors. Darkness, traps, and monsters can all hike up his fear bar, and if it reaches maximum capacity, his HP rapidly decreases until the unavoidable conclusion: death.
And once he dies, he must start the dungeon all over, with new creatures to face and different abilities at his disposal. He’s never been a religious man, but when alone in the darkness, he can’t help but try to look for the light, even if that means praying to a God he never turned to before.
Despite the odds stacked against him, Niko decides to descend into the dungeon again and again in search of answers.
But when he finds those answers, he might wish he hadn’t.
