God spoke to me at some point in my life and said I was going to write a book. Through the years, after marrying my husband, there was a burning inside that I needed to do it, but I could never get to the point of when to do it.

After things started happening with my husband, when he passed away, then really, that's when God really began to say it's time to write the book.

I started writing the book and realized that I had gone through so much and made it out.

There are many things that a lot of people have gone through, but a lot of people have kept it within themselves. They've lived with it for years, been condemned by it, and haven't had a good life because of shame or things have happened where they couldn't tell anyone.

I've always been a pretty good person, always had standards and considered myself a classy lady, even when I was in New York. But when I look at the life I had before and the life afterward, if I'd known what I know now, I would've been a Christian many, many years ago-when I was born, when I came out of my mother's womb.

As you listen to the book, you'll see many things I had to go through. But God has let me expose myself. He knew how much to expose. My life is laid out here.

My mother made us go to church. I'll never forget John 3: 16, "For God so loved the world." I knew that one, but when I was in New York, I didn't know too much about the Lord.

After getting saved, one of my favorite scriptures became John 3: 3, where Jesus tells Nicodemus "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." I didn't understand all of that, but He was talking about how you must be born of the water and of the spirit.

When that happened to me, when I became born-again, a light came on. Everything changed for the better-my way of thinking, my way of walking, my way of talking.

God will change you. When I got saved, I thought about how I'd danced and did my thing in the world. I dance in the church, but it's a different dance.
