I wanted to start reading this M/M hockey romance series that everyone keeps talking about and then watch the TV show so I wanted to start with the first book.
Scott Hunter is a pro hockey athlete and he's very superstitious. So when he wins a game after buying a smoothie made by Kip Grady he intends to keep this new tradition going. Kip Grady is working as a barista and trying to figure out what he wants for his life, then one day Scott buys a smoothie from him and he keeps coming back... Kip can't help but dream what it would be like to be with someone like Scott and when they run into each other again and Scott asks him out to eat, one thing leads to another and their lives are changed forever.
This was wonderful and cute, a bit insta love but I didn't mind. I really loved their relationship, they're so adorable.
Their romance comes with secrecy cause Scott is a huge athlete, he's not out yet and he doesn't feel comfortable sharing it just yet. So that comes with difficult but realistic situations and conversations.
I really liked following their paths, Scott trying to navigate what it could be like being out as a famouse athlete and Kip figuring out what he wants for his life going forward.
It was a lovely and fantastic read and I can't wait to dive into the second book in the series, the one the TV show is about! I also heard this couple from the first book makes an appearance at some point so I'm glad I've read this one too!
