The killer’s hand with the razor-sharp knife came down in a lightning strike…. the target is Nikhil Nanda, a college professor, who is catapulted into a dangerous quest for a secret buried decades ago. Nikhil makes a promise to his dying father to right a terrible wrong. A chance encounter with a beautiful woman, Tina Kohli, years ago in Spain, when he worked for Formula One, provides him with a path forward. Little does he know that his odyssey will result in multiple attempts on his life, and he will question Tina and her father’s involvement in the conspiracy.
In the background, unknown to him, is an ominous figure, who will go to any lengths to keep the past buried. Nikhil and Tina will chase the secret on three continents, from Chicago to Florence, and then to Delhi and Agra. Every time they come close to the truth, they find more buried secrets. Finally, Nikhil faces his nemesis in Montpellier in France. Is he able to keep the promise to his father, is he able to protect his family, or does he fail in his quest? What was the long-buried secret? What happened on that fateful day that touched so many lives?
