She has motive, means, enthusiastic friends, and a good lawyer
When Frances Langone finds her husband, Dom, shot dead on their kitchen floor, her first concern is the blood on her recently cleaned floor. At the funeral, rather than mourning, people are celebrating. Dom, a venture capitalist known for ruining portfolios and friendships alike, had many enemies—but Frances still tops the suspect. She has both motive and means, and a gun that’s now missing.
Unwilling to exchange her Gucci for an orange jumpsuit, Frances recruits her two best friends—the irreverent Ruth and Misty—to track down the true murderer. They navigate the Foxhaven Country Club, shake down Dom’s colleagues, and dodge Detective MacBrite and his cheerful rookie partner, Andy Hardy—all while maintaining their tennis, yoga, and salon appointments.
The women’s investigation reveals money laundering, drug trafficking, and a Cayman Islands bank account. It becomes obvious to them that everyone had a motive to kill Dom. The real question is, who got to him first?
A darkly comic mystery for anyone who has ever rooted for the widow.
