• An all-new version of the 900-year-old historical narrative by Geoffrey of Monmouth.
• Freshly updated for a 21st century audience.
• Introduced by historian and official Blackadder chronicler JF Roberts, with an all-new in-depth essay.
The second in historian JF Roberts' new series of introductions to the ancient texts of British history.
Geoffrey of Monmouth's infamous 'History of the Kings of Britain' is one of the most daringly daft gems in the annals of British history. Although largely made up by a Welsh-Breton-Norman cleric as propaganda for the Norman nobility, it put flesh on the bones of King Arthur and exasperated generations of historians – so is well worth a fresh read in the 21st century, if just to remind us that there's nothing new about fake news…
