I can't believe my luck when I inherit a bookstore in the cute little town of New Hopewell. Except running a bookstore isn't anything like what I'd imagined. Spend money to make money has never been in my thrifty vocabulary… and then there's the lingering sense that something is very strange about all this.

It certainly helps that brawny brewery owner Aiden has appointed himself my own personal guide to New Hopewell and small-business mentor. But I can't get distracted; my to-do list gets longer every day. I'm starting to think the pressure's getting to me when I wake from a nightmare, and I am certain there's someone in my room. Only when I turn the light on, it's just me. Just when I've tried to convince myself I'm not losing it, the little cat I inherited along with the place tells me I'm an idiot.

I didn't get this bookstore because I have a long-lost relative, but because I'm a witch. And my job isn't just recommending stellar reads, nope, it's to rid the cute bookstore of evil spirits that threaten the entire town.
