Leadership Art: Certain Leadership in an Age of Uncertainty makes the case that the most important competitive advantage any organization can build is not technology — it is the quality of its leaders. And it demonstrates, through real stories and real conversations, that human leadership does not mean soft leadership. The leaders in these pages set lofty goals, enforce high standards, and build organizations that generate real results. What they have discovered is that purpose, self-awareness, empathy, and character are not in tension with those outcomes. They are the engine of them.
Drawing on three seasons of the Leadership Art podcast — conversations with executives, entrepreneurs, military leaders, innovators, and purpose-driven builders — Art Robbins weaves together personal stories from a career spent inside real organizations, timeless lessons from history and literature, and the hard-won wisdom of nineteen remarkable leaders to deliver a book that is both deeply practical and genuinely inspiring.
Organized into four parts — the foundation of human leadership, the traps that derail good leaders, leading yourself, and the future that belongs to human leaders — Leadership Art gives you the frameworks, the stories, and the courage to lead from a real place. Starting now.
The future belongs to human leaders. Be one.
