Looking back on my life, I realize that the arts have always been my saving graces, from the time I could hold a crayon. This is the story of how my long careers in dance, theatre, painting, music and teaching have given me the strength to not only survive the traumas in my life, but to thrive.
Because of my own dysfunctional childhood, it has sometimes been a challenge to balance my creative life with being a good mother, and that's part of my story, too. Family has always been so important to me that I spent decades searching for my biological father's other daughter. Suddenly, there were so many life-changing events happening all at once, that I needed to write them down. And that's when I began to forgive.
