Few bands in rock history have proven to be as enduring and influential as Led Zeppelin. And during the '80s, there was an overabundance of "Zeppelin disciples," or, as guitar great Gary Moore once put it, Led Clones. 'Led Clones: The Led Zeppelin Imitator Craze of the '80s…and Beyond' is the first-ever book to tell the story about Zeppelin's immense influence on various artists – with an emphasis on the '80s (Kingdom Come, Whitesnake, Billy Squier), as well as the '70s (Rush, Heart, Montrose), '90s (Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Lenny Kravitz), and beyond (Greta Van Fleet, Wolfmother, Rival Sons).
Also explored is if Zeppelin borrowed from others – including some of their best-known tunes ("Whole Lotta Love," "Dazed and Confused," and in particular, "Stairway to Heaven") – plus, the solo recording careers of their surviving members, one-off reunions, and a list of the top-50 Led-like tunes by others.
Merging all-new interviews with archival material and analyzation, 'Led Clones' will not cause a bustle in your hedgerow…
