Marigold's world opens up with visits from her huge, eccentric Lesley family; she loves them all (because you have to love your family) but a teasing boy cousin and "perfect" girl cousin are challenging. So too are the germaphobic aunt and religious zealot uncle and a host of other zany characters she visits. Her great joy is to find life "int'resting" and despite their idiosyncrasies, they all are that.
And there is always Sylvia to return to. But as Marigold gets older, it becomes more difficult to find Sylvia ...
