Seriously wounded with three shots fired at her, with one bullet entering and exiting her head, she was airlifted and brought to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Birmingham, England. This 15-year-old girl was Malala Yousafzai, who soon became an inspiration for her exemplary courage in fighting for her rights against the Taliban and surviving a near-death attempt on her life. Soon, in 2014, she became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
