On the remote marshes of rural England, newlyweds Jack and Laura believe they’ve found their dream cottage—a place of roses, quiet sunsets, and creative work. But beneath the ivy and charm lies a history far older and far darker than either of them suspects.
When their housekeeper abruptly quits just days before Halloween, she leaves behind a chilling warning:
On All Saints’ Eve, the man-size marble effigies in the local church are said to rise… and walk.
Jack laughs it off. Laura tries to.
But as the night of October 31st unfolds, a strange hush settles over the countryside, shadows shift in ancient aisles, and the past steps forward—cold, deliberate, and unstoppable.
E. Nesbit’s Man-Size in Marble is a haunting classic of Victorian ghost fiction—a tale of love, folklore, superstition, and the terrible price of disbelief.
Narrated with atmospheric depth by Miguel Khoury, this chilling story still hits with the same cold grip it had over a century ago.
A perfect listen for fans of M. R. James, Algernon Blackwood, and classic supernatural horror.
