This is the second book in the Caroline series, beginning where "Halfway to Heaven Caroline’s Story" ended. Caroline has a chance encounter with a man who appears to be her saving grace and agrees to take a chance.

They were self-righteous and smug in their certainty and intolerant moralities. The submissive, hopeless dreamer in Caroline was easily manipulated while they rode their red carpets of authority.
