Bill met Evelyn at a time when he was least expecting to find her. He was the bass player for a popular band, had a bottomless trust fund, and had just received his letter of acceptance to Harvard. Inspired by a true story, the novel is set in and around Santa Monica, California, in the early 1960s. With the backdrop of Hollywood, the music industry, and local community college, the story intertwines education, religion, the arts, family contentions, and the potency of an inviolable love. The story is humorous at times and tragic in others as it follows the young couple through the twists and turns of a forbidden romance.

Their love carries them against all odds, and it seems for a time they have endured it all, but can their love save them from a final crisis?
