The death of a beloved father forever changes the life of a family. This is especially true for Sean, a ten-year-old boy who is mentally crippled by the loss.
Two years later, Sean is unrecognizable to everyone who knew him. He is barely passing school; he quit the baseball team and seems to be gone even when he is present. For Sean, life itself has lost all meaning. That is until he begins reading the Paladin comics. The adventures of the legendary hero, who fights for the innocent, breathe new life into this troubled boy.
Soon, he cannot deny the similarities between the heroic hero and his new neighbor. Sean makes it his mission to convince the reluctant savior of who he is and why he is needed while hiding this burning secret from the rest of his family. Time begins running out as an old villain resurfaces to attempt to bring humanity to its knees.
