Acerca de este título

'That night I didn't sleep a wink. It wasn't the bedbugs that kept me awake, it was Europe, the horror and misery, which penetrated it through and through.' Henry Miller's Nexus was censored fifty years ago, while Miller and his publishers fought for freedom of speech. Nexus II was never published, and looks at his first trip to Paris and Europe in 1928, a world on the edge of the great depression.

Paris 1928 collates these unpublished memoirs as Henry Miller wished, together with the censored pages from Nexus.

Reseñas de la crítica

"Scintillating, bewildering, profound, "Nexus" has a kind of brawling magnificence that could only emerge from the mind and imagination of a genuine artist." (The Daily Telegraph)
"Miller gives full rein to his knowledge of human beings and finds obvious delight in writing about an erotic, disorderly sort of existence." (The Guardian)
"Miller’s PARIS 1928 grabs the reader from the beginning. Based upon Miller’s own experience in the City of Lights between the wars, the relatively short work covers a broad range of topics, including the impending Depression and the author’s diverse ruminations. The work, which encountered censorship when it was first written, excels in audio as performed by Lynn Hard. He captures Miller’s intense prose and offers a personal glimpse into the man known for such provocative books as THE TROPIC OF CANCER and NEXUS. Hard is simply terrific, delivering every line with enthusiasm and an ideal mix of wonder, irreverence, and heart." (AudioFile Magazine)
