"None of my troops have been in combat. They’re all 17- and 18-year-old marines. None of us had been in combat. We landed in Vietnam. They opened the door...I had no idea what I was supposed to do."
The Purple Heart is the oldest military honor that’s still given to US military members, awarded to those wounded or killed in action against an enemy of the United States. People of Purple Hearts explores the bare re-tellings of combat veterans and Purple Heart enthusiasts who have dedicated their lives to our armed forces.
Spanning over the topics of brotherhood, politics of an unpopular war, regret, and the moment by moment recall of life-changing combat, People of Purple Hearts will connect you to a world that so few of have experienced, and only the bravest ever will.
