This enthralling narrative explores the opulent history of the 1311 Mali Empire, celebrated as the wealthiest empire in history. Mansa Abubakari II's journey to the other shore heralded a new era of growth for the Mali Empire. Sadly, upon his demise, his captivating Daughter takes the helm, continuing the legacy on the other shore and guiding the kingdom to unprecedented success. The Spaniards encountered this remarkable Queen on the west coast and bestowed the region with her name. Queen Khalifa's influence inspired the naming of the state of California, forever honoring her legacy. This exhilarating story unfolds through three distinct perspectives. Nalo, a middle school student, delves into the Truth passed down by her great-great-great uncle, Mamadou, a storyteller from the era of Mansa Abubakari the Second. Mansa Abubakari II astonishes the other shore with his wisdom and benevolent nature, working tirelessly to forge a brighter future for the other shore. His legacy endures through his daughter, Queen Khalifa, and Aboriginal peoples from the coast of Brazil to North America, honoring his spirit and commitment to progress. The Truth can never be buried forever. In time, it will expose itself.
