Anthony Donovan’s subtle, atmospheric performance amplifies the bone-chilling tension that permeates throughout accomplished early 20th-century British writer M. R. James’ lean, minimalist yarn, which tells the story of an unassuming young man who checks into an inn looking for peace and quiet, but instead becomes enraptured with the strange, enigmatic presence he discovers behind a locked door.
Fans of tight, intelligently written horror that eschews violence and gore and embraces the power of the imagination will be drawn to this gripping audiobook.
