Receiving a telegram from the Silver Birch Mounted Police that Colby Christian forfeited his badge. The men at McCoy’s wonder why. Not getting any response back from the Silver Birch detachment. Ed McCoy seeks Bob Cannon’s help to get answers, but, not even Inspector Bob Cannon’s authority forces any response from Silver Birch.
Writing up a legal writ forcing Special Constable Lionel Wellneck to step down, Brady McCoy, along with Matt Crawford, are entrusted with the writ and head to Silver Birch. Ed and Riley head to the Double-U hoping to find Colby alive.
Leaving Tyrell and Tanner behind to take care of the office, it isn’t long before they too are called upon. Taking a job in Crab Apple, the two of them are tracked by US Ranger Lee Griffith, who has returned to take Matt back to the USA for crimes, he committed there. With so much going on, there is no time for the dead…
