Christopher Datta
I jumped at the chance to say a word about Run Scout Run. Chris Datta opens the book by explaining the human bond with dogs in powerful theological, evolutionary, and literary terms.
Chris’ stance is firm and unapologetic: “The arrogance of humanity is appalling. We constantly set ourselves on high as the top of Creation.” But he and Scout forge a partnership of souls from the moment the nine-week-old whelp gazed at him “with brown soulful eyes”. Chris and Scout become true soul mates, each looking out for the other and sharing a love that defies life’s frailty. You will laugh a little and you will cry a little, but mainly you will let love fill your heart for the dog and for his human. If you love dogs, you will love this book.
Dan Santos, author of the best-selling Letters from Blitz.
