It's the year 1883 in California, when Sam and his hound dog, Beauregard, get a visit from an unwanted guest, a grizzly bear!
Beauregard gets severely wounded from the bear, as he tries to protect Sam.
Sam attempts to get help for his best friend in the little gold rush town of Dusty Falls, but on the way, they’re met by the notorious stage coach robber, Black Bart.
The bandit volunteers to get the dog to a horse doctor in town, in order to save his life.
While Sam waits for Black Bart to return, he is met by the sheriff who is actively trailing the stagecoach robber.
The sheriff accuses Sam of being part of Black Bart's gang and is arrested, as he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time!
Will Sam be able to prove his innocence?
