Now, celebrating more than 30 years in print, Secret of the Peaceful Warrior tells the story of a young boy who, when confronted by a neighborhood bully, learns to face his fears—not by fighting or running away, but by wielding a wonderful secret. Aided by a girl named Joy and a wise old man called Socrates, Danny learns what it means to live with the inner power of a peaceful warrior, turning fear into compassion and an adversary into a friend. This award-winning book was one of three recommended by major book chains to help children understand conflict resolution.
From the Author: One day, my publisher asked me to write a book for children to share some of the lessons and themes from Way of the Peaceful Warrior. I read the resulting manuscript to my daughters' Montessori class, and the children's suggestions helped me refine this a teaching tale, which conveys higher values through a real-world adventure. For the audiobook edition, produced by HiSierrafim Audio, with original opening and closing music by Faremis Sound, I imagined telling my grandchildren this story of courage and kindness.
